Registered in August 1986 with a common bond for all members of Plaid Cymru – The Party of Wales and their immediate family.
The Credit Union works for members, their families, party branches & small family businesses.
The credit union declared a 1.5% dividend to members in the Year 2015-2016.
The One Wales Government aims to ensure that all areas of Wales are covered by a credit union.
The credit unions in the valleys play a very important part in fighting financial exclusion and eliminating loan sharks that prey on people unfortunate enough to be caught in the poverty trap.
Undeb Credyd Plaid Cymru Credit Union, could have approached any credit union in Wales to propose a merger, but after considered deliberations they chose Smart Money Cymru’s range of services and products were attractive to the smaller credit union, in particular its move to offering more digital solutions for its members.
