West Lothian Credit Union

Established in November 1998 Companies House Number 137CUS

Started in 1998 as North Livingston Credit Union. The original founder members struggled to build a solid foundation that would last. What they had created has stood the test of time and a debt of gratitude is owed to those founder members for the benefits enjoyed today.

With expansion they began trading as Livingston Credit Union and Registered in February 2003 and since then they have given people a friendly way to save, offered a service for local people, who over the years have been able as members to borrow at an affordable rate

West Lothian Credit Union came into being in October 2015 offering online membership and online banking to members, with the common bond for those who work or live in West Lothian.

The credit union is very active in the Schools within the Common Bond and have several schools who host collections for students. The Schools Co-ordinator can be contacted E- mail to: schools@westlothiancreditunion.co.uk

Having received funding of £34,500 from the Scottish Government’s Third Sector Resilience Fund (TSRF) the grant will be used to help West Lothian Credit Union remain sustainable through this terrible coronavirus pandemic. As loan applications dwindle to a fraction of the average for this time of year the funding will help WLCU get through the next few months in the hope that they will be able to get back to some kind of normality later in 2020.
