Established in January 1996 Companies House Number 118CUS

Launched in 1996 as Kirkintilloch Credit Union by a group of local people who have steered the credit union to their present numbers and influence.
The operations and management of the credit union was carried out by volunteers and an elected Board of Directors, to whom the community owe a huge debt of gratitude.
They changed the name to Strathkelvin Credit Union in 2005 when it was decided to expand the common bond for anyone living or working in East Dunbartonshire.
The Credit Union saw significant growth over those years, so much so the Directors decided to find shop front premises to accommodate the credit union.
The Credit Union offers a Junior Saver Account where children can start saving until 16 and can then transfer to an adult account helping them with finances as they go through life.
In March 2013, they moved to the premises using a front office with a computer system which was a new learning experience for all.
Thanks, were expressed to all members for supporting the credit union over the past 20 years and as a member of the Scottish League of Credit Unions they are supported with help to become and remain a compliant and sustainable business
