South Coatbridge Credit Union

Established in February 1997 Companies House Number 119CUS

The Founders of Coatbridge Credit Union with the help of the Scottish league were committed to steering a financial co-operative for their community. The operations and management of the credit union was carried out by volunteers and the Board of Directors.

Since then the Credit Union has given people a friendly way to save and offered a service for their members who over the years have been able to borrow at an affordable rate.

The Credit Union offers a Junior Saver Account where children can start saving until 18 and can then transfer to an adult account helping them with finances as they go through life.

The 20 year celebration in 2017 was attend by many of the members who along with serving and past volunteers enjoyed tea and cake.

In 2018 they will be further expanding to other areas such as the Plains community centre and to new members.
