Established in 2006 Companies House Number 161CUS

Has been in existence since 2006, though up until 2010 was under the name of Western Isles Credit Union.
The base is in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, serves all of the Highlands and Islands. These include Highland Council Service Points and a number of housing association offices.
Membership is for people who lives or works in the Highlands and Islands. There is a network of Access Points and online for residents to join. The website also provides access to accounts.
In 2020 the credit union reached a milestone of issuing £10 million in loans since it opened. The Credit Union is building a strong financial community across the Highlands and Islands and has now a membership of over 3000.
Despite the disruption credit unions faced during the pandemic HI-Scot issued more than £1m in loans between September 2021 and September 2022 across their 3,300 members. Other than the campaign’s success in maintaining a healthy loan book, HI-Scot’s campaign has been nominated at the Scottish Design Awards.
