Registered in June 2002 is for people who Live or Work in the area of Hamilton, Blantyre, Uddingston, Bothwell, Larkhall, Stonehouse, Strathaven, west Craigs Whitehill, Burnbank.
The credit union was started by people who wished to help those avoid payday lenders in the areas where they lived and based on mutual principles. They don’t benefit anybody other than their members and their members.
Since then the Credit Union has given people a friendly way to save and offered a service for local people who over the years have been able as members to borrow at an affordable rate.
The Common Bond has been extended wider afield and membership continues to grow and currently have over 3000 active members. The credit union is very active in the Schools within the Common Bond.
