It was September 1992 when the founders registered the intention to commit to serving their community with affordable ways to save and borrow.
The local school hall was the first collection point where the first members signed up to join the credit union. What they had created has stood the test of time and a debt of gratitude is owed to those founder members for the benefits enjoyed today.
From humble beginnings the credit union has grown to and has given over all the years of service to the local community. The credit union operates a School Saver Club in local primary schools which has proved to be a very successful way of encouraging children to save.
It was not until seven years later that a permanent home and registered office was found on Duke Street.
The credit union has over 3000 Juniors and adult members. 2017 was the year to celebrate the 25years of service to the community.
