Prior to the registration in October, after visiting other credit unions around Glasgow a period of training the group of likeminded people made the effort to begin trading as a credit union.
As a member of ABCUL they are given with help to become a sustainable business with group training sessions, advice on legislative, regulatory and compliance issues.
The common bond amongst the members was for people residing in Barmulloch, Balornock and Springburn the G21 postcode of Glasgow
The credit union is still active and will celebrate 30 years in 2020.
Whilst the records show as an active credit union there is no further written detailed history of the credit union. So, if someone would like to update then please let us know.
