The credit union was registered in March 1995 and was started by volunteers for the people of the Cornton. Providing members with the means of saving to obtain loans at reasonable rates of interest.
Cornton lies on the north side of Stirling and is clearly defined as an area by the River Forth on one side and the railway line on the other.
More and more people over the years have benefitted from the service the credit union provides.
A grant from Stirling Council has allowed credit unions in Stirling to achieve greater results of membership including Cornton Community Credit Union.
The credit union is supported by the Scottish league of Credit Unions
Any updates on this credit union should be e-mailed to the Historical Society for inclusion and recorded for prosperity
