The first Credit Union in Clackmannanshire in 1997 was Tullibody Credit Union. In 2004 they merged with Alloa & Sauchie Savings Group to form Clackmannanshire Credit Union which now covers the whole of the county.
The credit union is run by a Board of Directors who are all volunteers and are appointed at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) The Scottish League plays a roll in training and advice to the credit union.
The aim of the credit union is to allow members to grasp control of their own financial affairs, building confidence, self-esteem and in turn positively affects whole families and communities.
Anyone who lives or works in Clackmannanshire, Stirling and Kincardine is eligible to join the Credit Union including junior members
A key social goal is to have a positive impact within the communities in which they operate. Their Community Grant enables them to do this by donating a share of the profits to worthwhile causes that enhance the communities and makes lives better for young, vulnerable, or excluded people.
