1st Alliance (Ayrshire) Credit Union

Established in September 2003 Companies House Number 157CUS

Was founded in April 2004 from the combined strengths of Kilwinning Credit Union who began in October 1990 and was registered with Company House number 55CUS and   Stevenson Credit Union Registration unknown.

A financial cooperative owned and controlled by members, managed and staffed by local people, with a strong voluntary element. They strive to offer tailored financial solutions to members.

1st Alliance covers the whole of Ayrshire, anyone living or working in the county can become a member and has achieved significant growth over the years.

With the introduction of IT and the internet the credit union is allowing the members to complete certain processes online and with the specialist security measures that are provided. Giving the same level of security as if members were standing with a cashier at the counter.

2019 AGM agreed a dividend of 1% to junior members and .5% to adult members as a credit to all.

In 2022 the Credit Union  expanded their service and rebranded as a community bank with the aim to raise awareness of the services offered. The expansion hopefully will reach beyond just Ayrshire as it will allow them to reach potential customers throughout the whole of the west of Scotland. With the name change to 1st Alliance Community Bank the hope it will help more people understand the function of credit unions and change the perception around them.
