Termonmaguirk Credit Union

The credit union was opened for business in 1970 as an Industrial and Provident Society Company. It was not ill January 1971 when it was required to register with the company number N0000066.       

The operations and management of the credit union was carried out by volunteers from the very start and now operates with a well-established number of staff.

Over time the common bond increased and membership continued to grow and now have currently over 4000 active members.

There is a very active Junior membership with over 900 who participate in many Credit Union events, including the annual Art Competition and CU Schools quiz run by the Irish league of Credit Unions.

Loans to members over all the years have exceeded £40 Million savings of 10Million and assets of over 12million.

The Common Bond Area is the Parish of Termonmaguirk and the area within a radius of 5 miles from the village of Loughmacrory.
