SAG Credit Union

SAG Credit Union was established in 1965 as an Industrial and Provident Society Company number NO00074

Without the commitment of the original volunteer founders who struggled against a backdrop of social deprivation and unemployment the credit union would not be the solid foundation that is here today.

The credit union has been serving the community for over 50 years now with over 9000 members.

Until recently, all credit unions in Northern Ireland were regulated by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI). Following years of lobbying at Westminster and Stormont, the UK Government granted regulatory responsibility for credit unions across the UK to the FSA. This will enable Northern Ireland credit unions to expand their services in line with Great Britain.

The credit union hopes to bring the services that they currently offer to members over the counter onto the internet.
