Established in 1965 with company number NO000058 as an Industrial and Provident Society Company though it did not register until January 1971 in order to comply with new regulations for companies in Northern Ireland.
The credit union is proud of its heritage and continues to be governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and the community owes them a huge debt of gratitude.
From those humble beginnings the credit union grew and has spread the service over the years to the wider local community.
With the age of the internet the credit union is allowing the members to complete certain processes online because of the revamped website in 2017.
They acquired and refurbished premises which was opened in that time. August 2017 as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations the Credit Union invited all members to the celebration party.
