The Credit Union is a local, not for profit financial institution. Established with just a handful of members and registered on the 25th of January 1971 as an Industrial and Provident Society Company number NO000038
The founders clubbed together a pound each and from then the credit union was Born
The first collection point was at the local primary school on the Glen Road.
The credit union began to grow at a steady pace by word of mouth and volunteers posted leaflets in the area.
It was 1978 when a purpose building was acquired with a piece of land when in 1985 an extension was built as a result of a successful 14 years trading by the loyal volunteers.
With assets of millions and continued membership growth founders can be justly proud of their early efforts all those years ago.
