Founded on 1 October 1981a local credit union that has served and supported the community faithfully and registered as an Industrial and Provident Society Company number NO000101.
The operations and management of the credit union was carried out by volunteers from the Board of Directors, to whom the community owe a huge debt of gratitude.
The Common Bond has been extended wider afield, to areas which were not already being served by any other credit union
The Credit Union saw significant growth over those years, so much so the Directors decided to purchase premises to accommodate the credit union.
The credit union is very active in the Schools within the Common Bond, who participate in many Credit Union events,
In August 2016 they celebrated the achievement of reaching the milestone of £2 million in shares with an open day and Coffie morning in aid of Marie Curie and Macmillan.
