The Credit union registered in January 1971as an Industrial and Provident Society Company number NO000021
Began as early as 1969 with people coming together to improve the lives of the people of Desertmartin and beyond.
With the help of those founders and the membership the credit union successfully acquired their own purpose-built premises.
Celebrating the 50th Annrvsary all the loyal active members were entered into a free draw with £12,000 worth of prizes.
With the introduction of IT members could now pay into their accounts via Debit & Credit card. They also could buy and sell Foreign Exchange (Euro/Dollars.
The credit union is very active in the Schools within the Common Bond, who participate in many Credit Union events, including the annual Art Competition and CU Schools quiz run by the Irish league of Credit Unions.
