Was established in 1963 by a group of like-minded people as a savings scheme to begin with registered at Company House number NO00022 a year before credit unions arrived in the UK.

From those humble beginnings the credit union has grown to and has given over all the years of service to the local community.
The Credit Union saw significant growth over those years, so much so the Directors decided to purchase premises to accommodate the credit union.
The credit union operates a School Saver Club in local primary schools which has proved to be a very successful way of encouraging children to save.
The founders should be acknowledged as a pillar of the Credit Union movement in the area.
The world of the Credit Union is ever changing and this Credit Union will be at the forefront of these changes. To create alternative personal financial services in the community and the place of work under the ownership and direction of its members.
