Ballymena Credit Union

The 6th February 1967 was the date of the first ever meeting of Ballymena Credit Union.

The Common Bond was over the years has extended wider afield, to areas which were not already being served by any other credit union.

50 years on the credit union has member savings of over £19 million pounds with over 11500 adult and junior members.

The credit union have issued loans of over £7 million pounds from their offices in William Street.

Members can buy oil stamps at a cost of £5 each and build them up to assist with future purchases of heating oil.

Ballymena Borough Council and St Vincent De Paul are sponsors with the credit union of the local Oil Stamp Scheme.
