Ballykelly Credit Union

A member of the Irish League the credit union was incorporated in September 1971 with the company number Nr 000082.

This credit union opening like many in Northern Ireland coincided with the launching of the new decimal money.

The “office” was a room in one of the founder’s house and was operated by volunteers.

From then they continue to provide the “core” services of Savings and Loans to members. The operations and management of the credit union was carried out by volunteers from the Board of Directors and continues to this day.

As far as the Historical society knows it is still a volunteer run credit union. If you wish to update then get in touch.
