Ballinderry Bridge Credit Union

The credit Union is a local, not for profit financial institution. Established in March 1969 by a group of local people and registered in January 1971 as an Industrial and Provident Society Company number NO00008

The original founder members struggled against a backdrop of social deprivation and unemployment to build a solid foundation that would last. The operations and management of the credit union was carried out by volunteers from the first Board of Directors, to whom the community owe a huge debt of gratitude.

From those humble beginnings the credit union has grown has given a service to the local community.

The Common Bond is within the Ballinderry Bridge and Loup areas and membership continues to grow from new generations. The credit union is very active in the Schools within the Common Bond, who participate events, including the annual Art Competition and CU Schools quiz run by the Irish league of Credit Unions.

With the introduction of IT and the internet the credit union is allowing the members to complete certain processes online where members can also view the website on their mobile phone or tablet.
