Established in 1992 as Metropolitan Borough of Wirral Employees Credit Union Limited
The future became bright for the whole community of The Wirral when in May 2004 with the registration to the current name Wirral Credit Union Ltd. and membership became for anyone living or working in a CH postcode area.
n 2016 a new website was launched and members could download a membership application forms, check out the latest news, find branch offices.
Later they would be launching a join online facility to make it even easier to become a Wirral Credit Union member.
The credit union took advantage of the 2018 ABCUL campaign “WORK not WORRY”. There are 25 local employers that provide their people with a great way to improve financial resilience through the payroll deduction schemes.
The credit union has provided over £30million in small loans to members for a variety of purposes.
