Was Registered on the 29th of January 1998 after a number of meetings by a group of people with a vision improve financial services for the benefit of the people of Warrington,
The credit union has a grown and people can join the credit union if you live, work or are a student in the Warrington area.
The common bond has been extended wider afield, to areas which were not already being served by a credit union.
There are many collection points manned by volunteers including the Warrington MoneyBox Shop the Gateway to Warrington Credit Unions Hatters Row Horsemarket Street.
In 2015 with a cash boost of 20K from the Lloyds Banking Group Credit Union Development Fund the credit union was given to grant it to enable them to expand their reach and support more people to make the most of their money.
The credit union has paid a dividend on average savings over the years from any surplus achieved from %, 0.75% in 2012 to 1%, in 2018
In 2021 the credit union merged with Unify credit union to offer customers new online financial services, text updates, and a larger range of affordable loans. Unify has at least 10,000 members
