The Credit Union was registered in February 1990 and was set up by North Tyneside Council employees to benefit the Council employees.
Issued with a small office at the Town Hall for a while and was required to move a number of times over the years to other locations within the council.
However, years later they found a permanent office at the heart of North Tyneside Council in Quadrant West, at the Silverlin
The credit union has grown from strength to strength over those years employing staff on the way. Membership was increased in 2011 when spouses or partners living in the same house hold were permitted to join
Regulation changes over this time also brought extra pressures and computerisation was inevitable bringing with the addition of the website where currently members can have 24-hour access to their accounts.
Members are at the heart of the business
