Was established in 2000 by local people from various walks of life who became aware of the need for an alternative to other financial institutions in the town.
Having visited other established credit unions over the previous year and receiving both training and advice they set about recruiting members within the common bond.
The common bond is for people who live or work in the LA1 to LA6 postcodes.
They offer the following services to over a 1000 members Christmas and school uniform loans, savings account, low cost loans, family funeral plan and free life insurance and loan protection, at no extra cost.
