March 2003 was when this credit union registered when a number of people became involved with the Steering Group for Money Spider.
The credit union is a very small and it is entirely run by volunteers.
Membership is for people who live or work in the South Derbyshire or Staffordshire area, including Albert Village and has reached over 500.
Members must be over the age of 16 residing in, being employed in or in regular voluntary employment within the Common Bond Area.
In 2019 there has been consultations with Derbyshire community bank (Erewash CU) about a possible merger so as to serve the members better with up to date service that is beyond resources of Money Spider.
This Is likely to happen later in the year when the membership of both organisations put it to the members and secure regulatory approval.
