It was July 2002 when a study group formed to explore the setting up of a credit union.
On Completion of a period of learning the process required the founders registered in December of the same year received funding and they set about spreading the word to prospective members.
M for Money was the first credit union that Credit Union Solutions launched. Its development was supported by Hillingdon Credit Union and a donation from Hillingdon Health Authority. Its name was invented by Dave Williams the Chair of Hillingdon CU.
Eventually spreading the message to all living or working in the London Boroughs of Harrow and Hillingdon.
Going further afield to include Spelthorne, Slough, South Bucks, Wycombe, Chiltern, Windsor, Maidenhead areas began to join the Credit Union.
Finally, South Buckinghamshire Community Bank is a part of M for Money Credit Union funded by Buckinghamshire County Council and District Councils.
