Registered company number IP00701C on the 14th February 2004 and Started as Kerrier & The Fal Credit Union Registered 26th February 2003 whose common bond is everywhere west of the Tamar.
Since then the Credit Union has offered people a friendly way to save and borrow. They offer a service for local people and over the years have allowed local people to save and borrow at an affordable rate.
Here are a number of Credit Unions who took part in the Association of Cornwall Credit Unions not to be forgotten for their service to their respective communities.
The Association of Cornish Credit Unions Each of the Credit Unions operating in Cornwall had a representative that sits on the ACCU board. The board decided on county wide policy and strategy, working together to develop a joined-up approach to credit unions in Cornwall. The ACCU board met every two to three months for a workshop meetings that would examine individual issues that face Cornish credit unions.
First Penwith Credit Union registered Number 595C in 1999 at St. Johns Hill Penzance and ceased trading in April 2008.
Second was Mid Cornwall Credit Union Registered number 614C on the 3rd Of February 2000 and began trading as Cornwall community Bank in December 2007. Later becoming Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Credit Union and ceased trading on the 13th of December 2013.
Seccure Credit Union Registered company number 694C and ceased trading in July 2012
North Cornwall Credit Union (Slate) 719C Register 2005 Based in Camelford Council offices ceased trading in September 2012
