Is the trading name for Erewash Credit Union and was established in 2006 in Ilkeston and is the largest Credit Union in Derbyshire with just over 3500 members
They have in excess of £1,000,000 out in loans or savings at any one time. Having previously mainly operated in Amber Valley, Erewash and the Derbyshire Dales, the credit union is now known as Derbyshire Community Bank and serves anyone who lives or works in the county.
There is a potential merger with another credit union Money Spider based in Swadlincote also in Derbyshire, near the borders with Leicestershire and Staffordshire
This is of course is subject to agreement by both credit unions and the regulatory authorities and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
