Is a financial co-operative formed in 2009, following the merger of four smaller credit unions, which had been operating in Darlington since 1988

Since the merge they have continuously grown and today are a community with over 6,000 members and continue to grow to provide an ethical and safe place to save and borrow.
MoneySmart a financial education programme introduced by the credit union with the help of RBS Skills and Opportunities Fund. It takes a fresh and proactive approach to teaching important financial practices.
The credit union have saving clubs with many of the local primary schools encouraging the habit of saving regularly through a weekly collection.
In 2020 with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund the credit union delivered a new project, named You are not alone: Managing money together. The project, an initiative to tackle problems with self-isolation, furlough and redundancies during the Covid 19 pandemic.
Providing and guiding vulnerable people and those who knew the stresses of debt with a friendly voice and guide.
Further the credit union will expand the service into schools, so teens and young adults can understand different types of debt and its impact before they start being marketed at.
