Was set up in 1999 to offer fair finance for all people living and working in Dewsbury, Mirfield and Ravensthorpe.
A volunteer run credit union, working in the local community in community centres and Surestart children’s centre. Offering regular savings, low cost loans, Christmas club, savings bank in local junior schools and launching first high school in September 2009.
Since 2015 the credit union has paid a 1% dividend to the adult members. In 2017 the extension of the Common Bond from Living and Working in Dewsbury/Mirfield was agreed to include Living and Working in North Kirklees
